The Last Badger Party - Open Call

Open for submissions - Closing Date 4th January

We are now accepting entries for our exhibition 'The Last Badger Party' at Badger in the Wall Gallery located in Clapham, North Yorkshire. We are encouraging submissions that have a celebratory theme for this month long exhibition. It is free to submit.

The Last Badger Party will be our final in-person exhibition in our current location in Clapham. Our lease expires on the Barn here at the beginning of March, which brings to an end a very happy 2 years hosting open call exhibitions in Clapham. 

Work of any theme can be submitted for consideration, but we would encourage uplifting pieces to help celebrate our last exhibition in our current location.

We will also be awarding prizes that will be selected by both our Gallery Judging Panel and a Visitor Vote.

Any medium will be considered, and for this exhibition artists are invited to submit just one piece of artwork they would like to put forward for the exhibition. 

If you have never participated in an exhibition before and are not quite sure where to start, then we would love to see your submission. Likewise, if you are an exhibition regular, again, we want to see your work. 

Artists who are selected will have their work displayed in our gallery for the duration of the exhibition, in an online gallery on our website, and printed in the exhibition programme, which will be available to purchase from the gallery or can be posted out. 

How to Submit

Artists are encouraged to submit one piece of work for consideration. It is free to apply, with only successful artists paying an exhibition fee of £30 per accepted work. Please make your submission via CuratorSpace.

Photography Submissions

For photography submissions, printing and posting, we can offer printing, mounting and displaying your work.

This saves you the stress of having to print and post your work to us. It also allows photographers anywhere in the world to participate in the exhibition. There is an additional fee of £7.50 for this service. 

For this exhibition, we will only be printing in A4 size. 

Key Dates

The exhibition will run from 31st January to 28th February 2026. 

Deadline for submissions is Sunday, 4th January 2026. 

Successful artists will be contacted by Wednesday 7th January 2026. 

Successful artists will need to accept their place in the exhibition fee by Wednesday 14th January 2026.

Successful artists will need to pay their exhibition fee by Sunday 18th January 2026.  

Work will need to reach the Gallery either by post or in person by Thursday 29th January 2026. For in-person, postal and courier deliveries, the dates and times for drop-off are as follows:

• Friday 16th January - 11am - 4pm

• Saturday 17th January - 11am - 4pm

• Wednesday 21st January - 11am - 4pm

• Thurs 22nd January - 11am - 2.30pm

• Friday 23rd January - 11am - 4pm

• Saturday 24th January - 11am - 4pm

• Wednesday 28th January - 11am - 4pm

• Thursday 29th January - 1pm - 4pm

Exhibition Prizes

We will be awarding cash prizes as part of the exhibition that will be judged by both a Gallery Panel and Visitors Vote. For both categories the prizes shall be as follows: 

• 1st Place - £50

• 2nd Place - £30

• 3rd Place - £15

Sale of Works during the Exhibition

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 10%. 

After the Exhibition

Work can be collected from Saturday 28th February, in-person from the Gallery during opening hours. All work that is to be collected in-person must be done so by Wednesday 4th March. Special collections days will be available between 28th Feb and 4th March.

If you require work to posted back to you, we will liaise with you direct over the arrangements and postage costs following the end of the exhibition. All work will be posted by 4th March.

Photography submissions that have used our Gallery print service can be posted to you on this occasion, subject to payment of required postage.
